Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, by Michel Gondry. He also did The Science of Sleep, which I've been highly recommended to watch. And that movie is so, so beautiful. Best cinematography, and the non-linear storyline is used to well. Runner-up? Marc Webb. (500) Days of Summer, MCR's I'm Not Okay video, and MCR's Helena video. Enough said. ;)

The Lady In White. It's not a comedy, JSYK, but it's an old, bad-special-effects, cheesy-plot, bad-acting "scary" movie about a kid haunted by a murdered girl's ghost. Watch it with your friends. TRUST ME. Also, the guy who played the little kid, Frankie, grew up to play the Patient in WTTBP and Nash in Inception (I forgot his name, LOL). So, yeah. Weird. And terribly, horrendously, over-the-top, so-bad-it's-good "scare". XD

Day 24 - That one awesome movie idea that still hasn’t been done yet

This is actually the plot of a screenplay/novel I'm currently writing. It centers around a Lit professor, whom I envision as played by Cillian Murphy, and how his marriage and life disintegrate as his affairs with two students become public. One, a "perfect girl" (Dakota Fanning) - cheerleader, jock boyfriend, homecoming/prom queen, the whole shebang - was looking to rebel, to be someone interesting and unique, and so sought him out and seduced him, not realizing how, in sleeping with him, she was playing straight into the "student with crush on professor" image. The other, a punk gang girl from the streets, was looking to get away from being used, and to make a good life and future for herself. He seduced her, and she slowly fell under his charms. It's coming along slowly, but I really want to get this published/produced someday!

Once again, there's two of them. One is Cillian Murphy's, because I love him so, and one is Michael Cera's, because I love him so too. Cillian's would be Breakfast on Pluto, except I mentioned that previously, so I'm going to go with Disco Pigs. I know a lot of people didn't like it, but I really did. I felt such a strong emotional connection to both characters, and the story is so passionate, so strong, so touching. And so, so bittersweet. (You can watch it in full HERE.) And Michael Cera's would be Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist. This movie really captures the craziness of New York City's chronic insomnia, the giddy rush of young infatuation, and the underground music scene. I think also, having read the book as well, that he played him perfectly, if not (as usual) not quite bad-ass enough.

This is a tie between Mark, from Love, Actually, and Tom (Hansen), from (500) Days of Summer. Mark, because we've both cared about someone for ages, and have it be completely unrequited. Tom, because I'm a hopeless romantic, and I feel like the right person is out there, but I'm scared that I won't be The One for them. And both of them, because I hope that, like them, I'll find the strength to make my feelings known, and then move on with my life.

Day 12 - A movie that you hate

There aren't really movies that I hate, actually. I'm going to have to go with Saw V, only because of its backstory with me. So, I was hanging with my friend once, whom I had a very large thing for, and my friends said he MAY have had a thing for me at that time. And I was, at that morning, PMS-y, overtired, hungry, and just all-around very bitchy. So he comes up to me, and we chat a bit, but I'm starting to get annoyed and bored. So he says, "Hey, wanna see Saw V with me sometime? I think it looks pretty cool." And me, being the cranky idiot that I was, say "Dude, can I talk to you about this later?" and, of course never do. We stopped talking as much after that, and I later found out that at some point after that, he slept with a girl I despise, but I didn't realize until a year or half a year later that I'd blown him off asking me out. I am such an idiot, and I hate this movie for it. (Of course, he turned out to be a drug dealer, so it's all good in the end, I suppose.)
Also, I flat-out refuse to have such a torture-porn movie on my journal, even a trailer, so have a surprised kitty instead!

Day 11 - A movie that changed your opinion about something

I've got two, both for very complex reason. First, An Education. It's a lovely movie, and such a touching, compelling story. For some reason, I'd always kind of... glamourized the image of the young high school girl swept off her feet by the high-class older man. This movie stripped away that glamour and reminded me that it's not as pretty as it seems. Second, Breakfast on Pluto. As much as it embarrasses me to admit it, before watching this (and Transamerica), I'd always been a little weirded out by MtF transsexuals. I had no problem with FtMs, because I can empathize with them more, but the idea of a man becoming a woman kind of freaked me out a bit. After seeing Kitten, though, that all went away, and I was shown how they are just the same, and are real women too.
